There is no way you missed it! A Texas spring is a lot of things, but subtle is not one of them. I hope you all were able to enjoy the soothing rains and warmer temps and avoid the hail storms, wind gusts, and general weather related chaos.

Before the graduations and Mother’s Day celebrations begin, many of us will be throwing open the windows and giving our homes a good scrub. I have no desire to see what snacks have been collecting under our sofa since Christmas (Popcorn? Goldfish? Cheerios?), but I think I’m about to find out.

As you make your Spring Cleaning list, let me help by adding a couple hearing related to-do’s:

Ear Canal Spring Clean

Have you washed out your ears recently?  You can find Debrox at any pharmacy (or any generic equivalent would also be fine). The drops help break down any excess wax and the bulb syringe flushes out the resulting debris. Here is a video where I break the directions down a bit more. (link to YouTube)

Hearing Aid Spring Clean

If you have been in for your annual check-up in the past couple months you may get to check this off your list right now, but a quick sprucing up can certainly improve the life span and functionality of your hearing aids. At home you can wipe down your domes and replace your wax guards. Or, if you would rather have us complete this “to do”, replacing wax guards, domes, vacuuming out your mics, replacing tubing…are all things that we can complete in five minutes and will freshen up your hearing experience.

Let us know if we can be of service with any hearing aid cleaning…and you are certainly invited to come clean out my refrigerator!

All my best,

Celia

One more “housekeeping” detail:  Family Audiology will be closed Monday, May 27th in honor of Memorial Day.
