One of the current focuses of the hearing aid industry is wireless connectivity. All major manufacturers have one variation or another of ways to stream your cellphone, T.V. audio, iPOD music, or the sound from any other Bluetooth enabled device right to your hearing aids.

Several brands (Unitron, Phonak, Oticon) use a neck worn component to interface with your hearing aids. Others (Resound, Starkey, Siemens) have antennas built into their devices that are able to receive a signal directly from a module that is plugged into your television.

Most hearing aids with a component worn behind-the-ear have the ability to operate with the wireless devices and now some custom hearing aids are also compatible. We anticipate this is an area that will continue to develop in 2012 and we will keep you up to date as new features are available!
